Opening Ceremony

Published by Penjo under General,Sports

Finally saw the tape delay ceremony on NBC. With the two smart mouths at NBC trying to dis- every country they had no information about. Felt like just muting the show and watching it with out the sound. The initial symbol of the 5 rings flaming on the water was cool. Anyways got to see some wierd countries that I have never heard of. (Vanuatu – sounds like an African counrty but is actually located near Australia. _)

All in all, I got to see the Bhutanese team parade with the dragon emblem on the flag. There was Lyonpo Thungley Gyamtsho behind the flag bearer Tshering Choden. (Which I think NBC mispelt CHHODEN - Not to sure on that) . There were 4 men and 2 women of which 2 were participating in the Archery event. And all this was for less than 2 seconds. This was due to the ads where after the ads they quicky ran thu the countries that they did not show.

During the show it seemed very interesting to the dumb comentators to constantly coment on the number of women participating in certian countries. Wierd….

The Asian Cup 2004 finals held in China was a total upset for the Chinese fans. Even Bhutan participated, sadly they lost all 6 games in a row.
